If you mainly need to hand someone a file or PDF as a clean link (with a QR code, analytics and an optional password), this is a simpler path than Tiiny Host's hosting plans, and you can start with no account at all.
Any supported file works. Code: HTML · ZIP · JSON · JSONL · YAML · TOML · XML · SQL · MD · INI · ENV · PROPERTIES · LOG · WASM
Tiiny Host's own help centre puts password protection on "Solo and above", its second paid tier. Here it's available from the Pro plan. See both pricing pages for the current figures.
Tiiny Host's free plan allows one project at 3 MB (0.5 MB for PDFs), and removing the Tiiny Host banner is a paid feature. Here a basic upload needs no account, and the small uploadthefile.com bar a free link carries comes off from the Pro plan.
Tiiny Host is built to host a whole site or page. If you only need to deliver a file or PDF as a link, most of that hosting surface is more than you need.
You need PHP to run. Tiiny Host's own FAQ says "Yes, we host PHP files and PHP app zip files", on its paid plans. We serve static assets only, so that is a real reason to pick them.
You want a hosting account you keep adding projects to. Tiiny Host's higher plans add editing, custom domains, email capture and team members; we hand you one link at a time, with no build step and no server-side runtime.
Yes. You can upload and share a file for free with no account (that link lives 48 hours), and a free account extends it to 30 days. A QR code is free on every plan. Free and anonymous links carry a small uploadthefile.com bar; removing it, along with password protection, permanent links and larger files, is on the paid plans. See the pricing page.
Yes. An HTML file or a ZIP becomes a live, hosted site, and you can connect a custom domain to it from any account, including a free one. The honest limit is that it's static hosting: no build step and no server-side runtime, so no PHP runs behind the page. Tiiny Host does host PHP, on its Tiny plan and above.
Password protection is available here from the Pro plan. Tiiny Host's help centre puts it on "Solo and above". Compare both pricing pages for the current figures.
No account is needed for a basic upload. Tiiny Host lets you publish without one too, but that link is live for only 15 minutes unless you claim it with an email address.
Ours, and only as a small bar rather than an advert: free and anonymous links carry an uploadthefile.com strip, which the Pro plan removes. Tiiny Host works the same way, adding its own branding bar to free projects and removing it from the Tiny plan up. Neither of us puts a third party's ads on your link.
Just one HTML page, with no build step? Put HTML online without signing up.
