MP3 is the headline format, and WAV, FLAC, OGG, Opus, M4A, and AAC work too. Every upload is verified as genuine audio, so a renamed or corrupt file is rejected up front instead of producing a player that will not start.
Does the listener need an app or plugin?
No. The URL opens a web player with a play button and seek bar directly in the browser. Audio streams from a global edge network, so playback starts quickly on mobile data as well as broadband, and keeps up with the stream on shaky connections.
Can I share a track without creating an account?
Yes. Upload and copy the streaming URL with no registration at all. A free sign-in permits bigger files and longer-lived URLs, and paid plans add password locking and listen analytics on top.
How long can someone keep streaming the track?
A link from an anonymous upload keeps streaming for 48 hours. Sign in free and it stays playable for 30 days. Once expired, the player is gone entirely rather than left in a teaser state.
Can I password-protect a private demo?
Yes, on a paid plan. Lock the player page behind a password so only people holding the code can listen. That suits unreleased music, sensitive interview audio, and client review cuts before sign-off.
Is the audio re-encoded or bitrate-reduced?
No. We stream the exact file you uploaded, byte for byte. A 320 kbps MP3 arrives at 320 kbps, and a lossless FLAC stays lossless. If you want a smaller stream, encode at a lower bitrate before uploading; we will not do it behind your back.
Can listeners skip around in a long recording?
Yes. The player supports seeking, so someone reviewing a podcast episode or interview can jump straight to a timestamp. The stream picks up from the new position without re-downloading everything before it.
